The Faith Alliance for a Moral Economy, an initiative of EBASE, invites you to the Prayer Vigil and Community Speakout to Prevent Homelessness on Thursday, June 9th 5:00-6:00 PM at Todos Santos Plaza in Downtown Concord closer to the Willow Pass side.
We are hosting this event to promote passing a strong anti-harassment ordinance in the City of Concord to protect vulnerable tenants from abusive landlords. That’s why we are supporting a policy with strong enforcement mechanisms, including awarding attorney fees when tenants win lawsuits. Along with that, the faith community wants to show its support for housing rights measures to prevent homelessness.
Along with prayers from clergy, we will hear from speakers including tenants and unhoused Concord residents about why a strong and enforceable anti-harassment ordinance and other renter protections are important. There will also be an altar and a table with ways to write notes about people you know experiencing housing insecurity to add to the altar. Everyone encouraged to attend.
Why is this ACTION important NOW?
1. We need the Concord City Council to pass a tenant anti-harassment ordinance with strong enforcement mechanisms which will be on the agenda next Tuesday June 14th at 6:30 pm so that residents have a tool to fight back against intimidation, threats and abuse by a few unscrupulous landlords, which often results in tenants being pushed out of their homes.
2. The City of Concord also just released a draft of its Housing Plan as part of the Housing Element, a plan that will determine what actions the City takes to promote fair and affordable housing from 2023 to 2031. The Plan shows that the displacement of renters, immigrants, and people of color is the number one fair housing problem in Concord. Yet, the draft still doesn’t do enough to stop displacement and promote racial and social equity. Now is a critical time to tell the City what low-income renters, immigrants, and people of color really need to stay put and thrive in Concord. This Plan will also be discussed Tuesday June 14th at the Concord City Council meeting, and public comment on this plan is only open until June 27th.
Sign up NOW to join us this Thursday tosupport those struggling to find and to keep a home. It’s time to call on our elected leaders to invest in more programs and policies that PREVENT people from being displaced and pushed into the streets.
Faith Alliance for a Moral Economy (FAME) FAME is a network of people of people of faith who support low wage and immigrant workers who are organizing for respect, dignity and living-wage jobs.
Addiction Is Illness Drug usage abuse is an addiction and mental illness. Local community should provide medications to help those addicted to recover.
End Drug War Destroy the profit driven criminal drug empire by providing free drugs at community medical centers with offers to help end addiction! End drug use incarceration!
Legalize Marijuana Legalize marijuana use & cultivation for personal use, but severely limit corporate control & promotion. Research hemp and its uses especially those which can help alleviate environmental damage!
Pharma End Pharma financial control of Medical Schools & Journals and government officials.
The opposite of addiction is not sobriety. The opposite of addiction is connection
“Put a rat in a cage and give it 2 water bottles. One is just water and one is water laced with heroin or cocaine. The rat will almost always prefer the drugged water and almost always kill itself in a couple of weeks. That is our theory of addiction.
Bruce comes along in the ’70s and said, “Well, hang on. We’re putting the rat in an empty cage. It has nothing to do. Let’s try this a bit differently.” So he built Rat Park, and Rat Park is like heaven for rats. Everything a rat could want is in Rat Park. Lovely food. Lots of sex. Other rats to befriend. Colored balls. Plus both water bottles, one with water and one with drugged water. But here’s what’s fascinating: In Rat Park, they don’t like the drugged water. They hardly use it. None of them overdose. None of them use in a way that looks like compulsion or addiction. What Bruce did shows that both the right-wing and left-wing theories of addiction are wrong. The right-wing theory is that it’s a moral failing, you’re a hedonist, you party too hard. The left-wing theory is that it takes you over, your brain is hijacked. Bruce says it’s not your morality, it’s not your brain; it’s your cage. Addiction is largely an adaptation to your environment.
Now, we created a society where significant numbers of us can’t bear to be present in our lives without being on something, drink, drugs, sex, shopping… We’ve created a hyper consumerist, hyper individualist, isolated world that is, for many of us, more like the first cage than the bonded, connected cages we need.
The opposite of addiction is not sobriety. The opposite of addiction is connection. And our whole society, the engine of it, is geared toward making us connect with things not people. You are not a good consumer citizen if you spend your time bonding with the people around you and not stuff. In fact, we are trained from a young age to focus our hopes, dreams, and ambitions on things to buy and consume. Drug addiction is a subset of that.”
End war on drugs: for legalization, treatment of abuse
Greens call for an end to the “war on drugs”, legalization of drugs and for treating drug abuse as a health issue. The “war on drugs” has been an ill-conceived program that has wasted billions of dollars misdirecting law enforcement resources away from apprehending and prosecuting violent criminals, while crowding our prisons with non-violent drug offenders and disproportionately criminalizing youth of color.

Nation is waking up to the end of the war on marijuana
The silence on the illegal mass spying on Americans by the NSA, and no doubt the CIA and other intelligence agencies, was deafening. The lack of discussion about the legality of the drone program showed once again the U.S. is a nation that violates the law rather than abides by it. The failure to discuss the mistaken mass incarceration that is so racially disproportionate was a missed opportunity as the nation is waking up to the end of the war on marijuana.

Cannabis/Hemp is to be legalized
Cannabis/Hemp is to be legalized, regulated and controlled like cigarettes and alcohol. Until this happens we advocate that medical marijuana be made a prescription drug that doctors may prescribe to their patients.

More drug counseling & treatment
We call for legalization of industrial hemp and all its many uses.
We oppose the illicit activities of the international drug trade and the illicit money laundering that often accompanies the drug cartels.
We call for a revised view of the “drug problem” and an end to the “war on drugs,” recognizing that after over a decade of strident law-and-order posturing, the problems with hard drugs have only worsened.
We call for expanding drug counseling and treatment for those who need it.
We believe mandatory drug testing violates civil rights; therefore, we oppose mandatory testing.
We favor innovative sentencing and punishment options, including community service for first-time offenders and “Drug Court” diversion programs.
We support alternative sentencing for non-violent crimes (i.e. community service) and guaranteed education within prison.
Replace Drug War with treatment and alternative sentencing
We support decriminalization of “VICTIMLESS” CRIMES, for example, the possession of small amounts of marijuana.
We call for legalization of industrial hemp and all its many uses.

I want to thank you for taking a moment to sign my nomination papers, making a donation, endorsing my candidacy, or otherwise supporting me. With your support I was able to qualify as the Green Party candidate for the new California Congressional District 10 and was on the June 7, 2022, primary ballot.
Election officials will be counting the votes by the time you receive this letter. On your ballot, for those in CA District 10, you have only seen my name along with the incumbent Democratic Mark DeSaulnier. The Republican candidate was disqualified. He was a Ukrainian immigrant, but he didn’t meet the 7 years as a U.S. citizen to qualify.
With two of us on the ballot, you might think I am guaranteed one of the top two positions on the November general election ballot. However, when no Republican qualified for the ballot, a local Republican was asked to run as a write-in candidate. Normally write-in candidates have little chance, but I am vulnerable as a Green candidate because of the Green Party’s small voter registration base.
My ability to withstand the write-in challenge will depend on two factors:
How well a write-in campaign has been run by the Republicans.
How many Democrats and Independents decide to vote for me as symbolic protest against the Democratic Party’s inaction on many important issues! Also, how many are not happy with the present condition of our society concerning the economy, the pending climate catastrophe and the promotion of war between Russia and Ukraine that could risk a nuclear war?
Mark and I have known each other for over 10 years going back to his State Senator days when he took a personal interest in my local community of Bay Point. I have nothing but good things to say about Mark as a person and I think he has represented Contra Costa residents in an honorable manner all through his long political career.
So why am I spending thousands of $ and many months of campaigning to run against Mark for a second time? Mark has made a career of not rocking the boat against the established powers in the Democratic Party, especially in California. Mark has created an aura around him as a polite, friendly progressive. Mark, in all sincerity, tends to personally vote in Congress as a good progressive. However, it is difficult to ever find him publicly opposing the corporate controlled Democratic Party leadership on any of those same progressive issues. These are progressive issues that continue to fail despite Mark’s vote. Mark avoids controversy and never makes any loud public stand on many progressive issues considered controversial by the corporate run Democratic Party. Mark is no Bernie Sanders or Alexandria Casio Cortez! Mark is almost too nice to be in the U.S. House of Representatives currently, where corporate owned Republicans and Democrats control the leadership with iron grips!
So why am I running? America and the world are at some dangerous crossroads politically, militarily, and environmentally! There is no time or value in being a timid person in Congress. I will be an issue-oriented bullhorn in Congress and with the people in my district and beyond. I will be outspoken about both the pending climate catastrophe and the near total seizure of our government, media, & society by the Military-Industrial-Media-Prison complex that President Eisenhower warned us about 60 years ago!
As a Green, I will owe no allegiance to the powers politically in control, Democratic or Republican. I will expect them to do what is best for the people and environment and I will not accept anything less! I realize that I will be among the very few in Congress who are willing to fight for what is right, but I will fight like hell to make a positive difference! I can certainly promise you that!
I offer my website as my introduction as to the bullhorn I will be in Congress. You might not agree with everything I say and support, but I base my opinions on facts and experts, especially those who are censored and banned by the MIMP complex. I welcome your respectful comments and concerns! I enjoy issue-oriented debates and will always remain open to consider serious fact-based different viewpoints. My viewpoints didn’t happen overnight, but from a lifetime exposure to countless experiences, information, and viewpoints from others! I have 50 years as a serious progressive activist!
I certainly don’t know or understand everything, so please let me know what you think on any given issue! I will be doing my very best to rely on the excellent group of progressive organizations and individuals that the military-industrial-prison-media complex is always censoring and attacking! They will have a loud voice with me!
With Peace, Justice, Human Rights, and the Environment,
The climate catastrophe rapidly approaching the world requires a WWII like 100% response that must involve all nations especially China & Russia. There is no sanity in creating any kind of conflict with two smaller but still military powerful nations if civilization and the world are to be saved!
The U.S. first started this war with its sponsored 2014 coup and with its promotion of Ukraine attacks on Eastern Ukraine along Russia’s border! The U.S. was eventually able to force Russia into an actual invasion of Ukraine!
With the breakup of the Soviet Union, it was agreed that Russia would fully support the reunification of Germany while the U.S. and NATO agreed not to expand NATO into the newly formed nations of the Soviet Union breakup! In fact, Russia looked forward to becoming a full partner in European society and economy! But the military-industrial complex controlling the U.S. government would have nothing of that as it saw massive profits in selling western military equipment to the newly formed NATO nations. Despite strong but peaceful complaints from Russia, NATO has gradually expanded over the years to the very borders of Russia. Then the U.S. and NATO set their sights on Ukraine. All one has to do is look at the geography of Ukraine and see that it is like a dagger into the heart of Russia. Ukraine has been the redline for Russia and its security for many years!
Then the U.S. sponsored and promoted a violent coup in 2014 to overthrow the elected president and government of Ukraine. This was because the elected Ukraine government did not want to abandon trade & association with Russian instead of joining the U.S./NATO economic system. Rather than allow elections to determine the internal affairs of Ukraine, the U.S. chose the “coup” weapon as it has done repeatedly in other nations! I was surprised at the Russian restraint when they did not come to the aid of the Ukraine government during the coup! They didn’t make that strategic mistake with Syria.
Immediately after the coup, Crimea voted overwhelming to join Russia while the eastern Dombas declared its own autonomy. For nearly 8 years Ukraine was encouraged to wage a war against the Dombas even ignoring A Minsk Peace agreement. The current President and former comedian Zelenskyy was overwhelmingly elected because he promised to bring peace, but quickly he capitulated to the heavily infiltrated neo-Nazi military units near Dombas and the fighting continued!
The U.S. and NATO’s continued militarization involvement in Ukraine was clearly crossing a red line for Russia as to its own national security. Russia tried to negotiate a satisfactory settlement for months. Russian demands were reasonable and in the spirit of real peace. No NATO membership, accept a NATO free militarization of Ukraine, stop harassing people of Crimea and Dombas!
Since the 2014 coup the U.S. has openly promoted military attacks on the Dombas and harassment of Russian Crimea. As the U.S. planned all along, finally Russia could not wait any longer and was forced to invade Ukraine. Since the Russian invasion the U.S. has viewed Ukraine as a proxy war to weaken Russia. The U.S. has encouraged the Ukraine leadership to fight Russia to the last Ukraine by supplying more and more lethal weapons.
To further weaken Russia, the U.S. has used the war to sanction and isolate Russia from Europe. However, China and much of the rest of the world has not gone along with U.S. sanctions and support of the Ukraine in its war efforts.
Much of the world, of course, has rallied to help the innocent war-ravaged Ukrainian people and demanded negotiations and peace settlements to end the war. Ukraine will never be the same! The U.S. has shown no interest in a peaceful conclusion to a war it intentionally set in motion! U.S. government response has been to escalate the destructiveness of the weapons it is sending to Ukraine forcing Russia to escalate its military offense in response!
U.S. policy seems to be willing to risk possible nuclear war and the end of all civilization rather than have any peace deal and end to the war! I am afraid the best result now will probably be a total split of Ukraine into two regions and perhaps an annexation of Eastern Ukraine into Russia. Look for the end result to be a massive military buildup on both sides of the new borders.
This never had to happen! As Martin Luther King said before his assassination, the U.S. is the greatest purveyor of violence in the world! It has only become worse!
Research and years of experience have formed my opinions! I realize that I am not all knowing on everything, so of course, I will always be open to making alterations to any of my positions, but only if justified by facts and critical thinking analysis! I will not change my positions on issues to win a vote, get an endorsement or campaign funding!
We have a government and mainstream media under the control of the military-industrial-prison complex and a few hundred powerful and rich people who comprise the Deep State. They are real and too be feared.
They act to smear and frame those who might successfully oppose them.
When that fails, they have orchestrated the deaths of outspoken leaders such as JFK, RFK, MLK and Malcolm X.
They attack imprison, exterminate whistleblowers and activists like Karen Silkwood, Brian Willson, Judi Bari, Mumia Abu Jamal, Chelsea Manning, Edward Snowden, Julian Assange, Daniel Ellsberg, Ralph Nader, among others.
They conspire to keep or remove from political office those who would defy them publicly, such as Dennis Kucinich, Cynthia McKinney and Bernie Sanders since 2015.
The Deep State relentlessly promotes racial, religious, and social issues to divide, control and conquer us.
The Republican and Democratic Parties along with the Corporate Media have become the Deep State tools to subvert us.
Only when we understand this will we have a chance to unite and slay this demon that would willingly destroy us and the world for power and wealth.
With the Corporate Media long censoring opposing viewpoints of the government narrative on important issues, now we are seeing massive flagrant censorship in social media platforms at a level only seen in the most authoritative of governments.
I will be a bullhorn exposing the corruption in Congress and all our government agencies!
9/11 Attack
My Congressional Campaign Statement Absolutely nothing about the government/corporate media story is truth. The 9/11 attacks were planned, managed and covered-up by my government. Corporate media ownership joined in the cover-up. Since the release of the 9/11 Commission report, which I consider a confession, I have offered a $100K reward to the first person who can prove (even demonstrate) that the government didn’t do 9/11. More
Engineers and Architects Over 3500 Engineers and Architects have risked their professional reputation and sometimes jobs have signed petition demanding new independent investigation of 9/11 attacks, especially concerning the now proven demolition of the WTC 1 and 2 towers and WTC 7.
My Congressional Campaign Statement The Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision was an excellent compromise concerning a divisive issue. The Democratic Party has failed us in not making the Supreme Court’s excellent compromise in the Roe v. Wade decision into legislative law. That should be a priority in the future.
Why does the “Pro-Life” movement keep electing politicians who act as if the “Sanctity of Life Ends at Birth”. Social programs are often needed to guarantee the health and safety of mothers and children! Where is the Pro-Life in Pro-Life? Why do Pro-Choice people defend a woman’s right to control her own body and yet support a government policy that forces people to inject experimental vaccines into their body? Why do Pro-Life people want to force a woman to bear a pregnancy for 9 months yet scream against being forced to take a mandated vaccine that takes a minute? Lots of hypocrisy from both sides!
Assange, Julian
My Congressional Campaign Statement I demand that Julian Assange be freed immediately! Although he has done no wrong, in order to protect him from further oppression, I demand President Biden provide a full pardon! There needs to be significant reparations paid to Julian for all that he has been forced to suffer by England and the U.S. The attack on Julian has also been an attack on Wikileaks. The treatment of Assange and Wikileaks has been a grave threat to the First Amendment’s guarantee of freedom of speech and the press!
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” https://defendwikileaks.org/
Banking
Ban Payday Loans They often charge astronomical interest rates for short term loans which can trap low income into a never-ending struggle to survive financially. They should be banned and replace with low interest post office and community bank loan programs.
Breakup Big Banks Big Banks charge excessive fees and interest to middle and low income people while making special deals with the rich.. They promote loans to multi-national corporations for large infrastructure projects in smaller nations against the will of the local people. They take money out of local communities and give back little in return.
Cap Credit Card Interest Credit Card Interest rates are highway robbery, and they negatively affect the poor the most. Those who can’t make large payments so suffer years merely paying high interest. The interest rates should be fixed to the Fed’s prime rate at a much lower rate.
Community Banking Credit Unions and Community Banks provide reasonable financial service to most members of the community. They keep and invest the money in the local community.
Dodd-Frank Dodd-Frank should only be improved and enforced more. [The Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (commonly referred to as Dodd–Frank) is a United States federal law that was enacted on July 21, 2010.[1] The law overhauled financial regulation in the aftermath of the Great Recession, and it made changes affecting all federal financial regulatory agencies and almost every part of the nation’s financial services industry.]
Post Office Banking Would provide low-cost checking accounts to help replace the outrageous Payday loan centers.
Public Banking I support the California Public Banking Option Act (AB 1177) which has Passed the CA State Legislature.
We also have the opportunity now to build a new alternative banking system through locally-controlled socially and environmentally responsible public banks, enabling cities and counties to recapture public dollars and have a say over the financing of our own communities. Cities and counties hold billions of dollars of public money in Wall Street banks. Legally, these corporate banks own and control this money which they have used to finance harmful industries including: private prisons, immigrant detention centers, weapons manufacturers, fossil fuel pipelines, and other investments that prioritize corporate profit over the people and the planet. These too-big-too-fail banks are also engaged in risky and fraudulent practices that crashed the global economy in 2008. https://californiapublicbankingalliance.org/
Would help keep money in the community for home, business and vehicle purchases and loans.
Business
Breakup Monopolies Breakup monopolies! Monopolies enrich a few individuals at the expense of communities, workers and local small businesses. Example: Walmart and Amazon warehouses could be a number of individual businesses that supply (at same wholesale prices) all retail stores regardless of size in their region. Then there would be affordable priced local retail stores in every community.
End Corporate Welfare End tax breaks and subsidies to large corporations.
Stop Corporate Blackmail Prevent Corporations from blackmailing and pitting communities against each other for tax breaks and other perks.
Small Businesses First Eliminate unfunded bureaucratic legal paperwork on small businesses. Encourage public bank and credit union financing of small business.
Worker Cooperatives Encourage worker owned cooperatives! Allow workers first right to purchase companies being closed or moved along with public financing. Promote Cooperatives businesses!
California Democrats, the Fake Progressive Party
My Congressional Campaign Statement California has the wealth and knowledge to do the policies below. California is under total control of the Democratic Party, yet it has not implemented these policies for 12 years! One excuse after another!
Homelessness Haven’t done anything that actually solves the problem as it keeps getting worse. Homelessness is a complex, life-threatening problem. The Democrats could solve homelessness, but only if systems are designed to continually reduce and end it. Built for Zero. About 0.4% of Californians and people who live in the state (161,000) are homeless. California in 2017 had an oversized share of the nation’s homeless: 22%, for a state whose residents make up only 12% of the country’s total population. “Housing First” principle, a policy in which the government offers unconditional housing for all. To put this into perspective, cities that do not abide by the housing first principle usually want the homeless to meet certain conditions and criteria before being made eligible for permanent housing. An individual who is suffering from, for example, substance abuse, must first complete an intensive drug rehabilitation program before qualifying for public housing. Chronically homeless people cost the government a lot of money when they’re living on the street, because of services like emergency room visits and jail time.
Medicare for All Passed twice by the California legislature only to have Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger veto it both times! It hasn’t passed the CA legislature for 12 years since despite increased Democratic control while CA has had two “progressive” Democratic Governors neither of whom has publicly demanded the bill on their desk!
Public Bank Public banking serves as a powerful tool to keep taxpayer dollars in local communities. We have the opportunity now to build a new alternative banking system through locally-controlled socially and environmentally responsible public banks, enabling cities and counties to recapture public dollars and have a say over the financing of our own communities. Why do Democrats refused to create a California Public Bank?
California Public Banking Option Act – AB 1177 (Santiago, Carrillo, Chiu, Garcia, Gonzalez, Kalra, Lee, Ting, Wicks, Gipson), or CalAccount, closes the financial services gap, bolsters the economy, and ensures an equitable economic recovery by providing a stable, accessible platform for underserved communities especially hit hard by the pandemic. It builds on the success of financial access programs CalSavers and CalKids and brings us closer to bridging the racial wealth gap.
Campaign Finance Reform
Electoral Reform Until there is a level field in elections as to financing and public access, we will continue to have corporate monied sponsored candidates win most elections.
100% Public Campaign Financing Allow the necessary funding to candidates and propositions to counter dark money and super PACs support of opposition. Expensive at first, but will eventually discourage use of Dark money and super PACs in elections. Way to neutralize Citizen United Supreme Court decision.
End Citizen United It is insane to consider corporations as people with more rights than people.
Rank Choice Voting Helps eliminate the spoiler effect of voting and allows voters to vote their conscious without fear of helping to elect undesirable candidates.
End Election Suppression of Third Parties Prevent collusion by Republican and Democratic Parties to suppress election participation by Third Parties.
Modify Presidential Electoral College Make each state’s Electoral College based on proportional voting rather than winner take all. Helps negate the current unrepresentative system without unfairly hurting small state influence in Presidential elections.
Modify Congressional District Format Create fewer larger Congressional Districts. Example in California: the current 52 Congressional Districts would be broken into 10 Congressional Districts where the top 5 or 6 candidates would be your Congress people. Effect is that more voters in each District would likely have Congresspersons who share their values. Also makes it more possible for Third Parties to elect some members to Congress that represent viewpoints different from the two corporate parties.
Fairer Election Media Coverage Require media as part of their FCC licensing agreements to provide free media access such that it will equalize coverage to public audience for all election candidates and propositions overwhelmed by advertising purchased by large money interests!
Reinstate the Fairness Doctrine Require the FCC to act to promote and encourage the larger and more effective use of broadcast and social media in the public interest. The airwaves and internet belong to the public.
Censorship
My Campaign Slogan Censorship and the Truth are not Compatible.
Government Censorship Right to censor and classify documents should be more limited especially concerning media access.
Whistleblowers Protection They are a vital element in keeping government honest and less corrupt. Whistleblowers who act in public interest to expose corruption and illegal activities should not only have full immunity, but reasonable compensation for their courage and risks undertaken.
Climate Change
Climate Catastrophe The U.S. needs to lead the world in attacking the climate catastrophe with the same level of effort as was made during WWII. Yet our government and many others are not doing anything of substance. The government acts like it is not an emergency and the financial market will solve the problem.
Climate Catastrophe Future? The Scientific Community gave us 10–20 years to prevent civilization ending runaway Global Warming. Little has been done politically since to address the pending Climate Catastrophe.
Covid
My Congressional Campaign Statement Is there any circumstance that the government should mandate vaccines for the public? There may be a circumstance, but it should never have happened during the current Covid-19 situation. Covid was a serious health risk only to those with multiple comorbidities. 95% or more people either never suffered any symptoms or only mild cold flu symptoms. The CDC director a few months ago stated that 75% of those who have died with Covid virus association had 4 or more comorbidities. How many died with 3; with 2; with 1.
People were mandated to take experimental unproven vaccines in violation of the Nuremberg Medical Code established after the trials of medical personnel at the Nuremberg trials of the Nazi after WWII. There were some unusually rapid approvals of several of the mRNA vaccines. However, the approved vaccines have never been distributed. The vaccine manufacturers were allowed by CDC to first deplete their large stock of the experimental vaccines. The manufacturers are in no rush to provide the approved vaccine which they are liable for adverse effects, while their experimental vaccines are immune from liability. Meanwhile the CDC’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) released recent reports of 1,217,333 reports of adverse events from all age groups following COVID vaccines, including 26,699 deaths and 217,301 serious injuries between Dec. 14, 2020, and April 1, 2022. This is about a 1000% increase in adverse reaction from all vaccines in each of the previous 10 years. Data experts also claim that less the 10% of adverse reactions to vaccines ever get officially reported. Yet CDC and media keeps claiming these vaccines are safe. More
A simple Summation of Covid Stupidity
Imagine a vaccine so safe that you have to be threatened to take it;
a vaccine manufacturers have to be given total immunity from any damages to your health;
for a disease so deadly that you have to be tested to know you have it;
for a disease that requires you to have multiple pre-existing comorbidities to die from it;
for a pandemic that doesn’t register in increased worldwide death totals;
for a society that wants to experimentally vaccinate children that have near zero chance of death or even severe illness;
for health aftereffects that are deliberately called “long covid” instead of “long vaccine”;
for a government that managed a massive wealth transfer from the middle class to the super rich;
for a society that will believe anything that corporate media & government might say when told to be afraid;
for a government that needs massive censorship and attacks on whistle blowers to accomplish all this!
Censorship Massive censorship of even experts in the field of medicine, vaccines and mRNA technology! WHY?
The U.S. has world’s Worse Covid Death Rate This fact alone should have stopped massive censorship and opened up discussion as to why this was happening!
Worldwide Death Rate Demonstrates only a slight death rate increase in 2020 (7.612), 2021 (7.645) and 2022 (7.678) from 2019 (7.579). The death rate actually started increasing in 2019 after decades of gradually dropping from 20.15 in 1950 to a low of 7.546 in 2018. It was only in 2009 (7.969) that the death rate first dropped below 8.0. In past 72 years only 6 years had lower worldwide death rate than the covid years and barely. Where is the pandemic? More
Health Care “COVID-19 has exposed how poorly prepared the U.S. healthcare system is to handle an epidemic,” said Green Party National Co-Chair Margaret Flowers, who also serves on the Board of Advisors to Physicians for a National Health Program. “We’ve missed the window for containing the virus through screening, testing and monitoring infected people and their contacts — as they did in China, South Korea and other countries. And so we can expect millions of cases.” Flowers also warned that “getting ill in the United States carries the extra burden of potential financial ruin. We need to move to a National Improved Medicare for All health system and paid medical leave as rapidly as possible.”
Death Penalty
Abolish Death Penalty Allowing the state, the right to kill anyone is obscene. Too many innocents have been on death row! Financially it is less expensive to imprison someone for life than to execute.
Families and Community It’s a long process that further damages the families of the victims & the incarcerated. It is an emotional, moral, and financial drain on society.
Deficits
Abolish Debt Ceiling The debt ceiling is used as an excuse to limit needed social spending. The military budget needs to be sharply reduced. We spend more money on “Defense” than the next 10 nations combined. Foreign aid should only be for humanitarian and social needs. Domestic social spending and helping the poor increases the tax base as money exchanges hands more frequently!
Democrat-Republican Divide
Military-Industrial-Prison Complex We have a government and mainstream media under the control of the military-industrial-prison complex and a few hundred powerful and rich people who comprise the Deep State. Both Parties use the “Good Cop – Bad Cop” to control their people bases, but they both answer to the MIPC! Both use the other as excuses on why they can never seem to be able to help the average person.
Addiction Is Illness Drug usage abuse is an addiction and mental illness. Local community should provide medications to help those addicted to recover. more
End Drug War Destroy the profit driven criminal drug empire by providing free drugs at community medical centers with offers to help end addiction! End drug use incarceration!
Legalize Marijuana Legalize marijuana use & cultivation for personal use, but severely limit corporate control & promotion. Research hemp and its uses especially those which can help alleviate environmental damage!
Pharma End Pharma financial control of Medical Schools & Journals and government officials.
Economy
Equitable Government should act to bring people out of poverty by providing free or low-cost essential services.
Tax the super-rich and billionaires out of existence.
Jobs Create a livable Minimum Wage. Guarantee public jobs to those unemployed!
Universal Basic Income A universal guaranteed livable income for all U.S. adults would create a more equitable society. It would help to eliminate poverty and a major impetus causing most crime. Tax the rich whatever it takes! I suggest:
$600/week to every adult American citizen, $31K yearly (no exceptions)
All able bodied must work average 30hr/ week, 10 months/year
5% (of $600) for every year a Green Card holder/legal resident
Convicted and serving Prison time (Your $600 distributed goes 1/2 to your family and 1/2 to your victims/victim fund)
Work requirement exceptions: pregnant, a parent w/ child under 7, over 50 years old, disabled (while temporary or permanent), full time students (part time less)
Products 3Rs Will need a 100% repairable, reusable, and recyclable society!
Education
Charter Schools No tax money should go to private charter schools
Critical Thinking Next to reading and math, critical thinking should be taught at every level of schooling. Critical thinking might be the most important subject of all, yet it is seldom taught if at all. Critical thinking is an important skill to have among the electorate, if you want a Democracy to survive and prosper.
Free Public Universities Education is an important public resource that makes our country and the world a better place. The U.S. should provide free public education from pre-K through college
Fund Public Schools Public schools should be fully funded through our income tax system rather than with separate regressive school bonds and local taxes. The quality of education and teacher salary should be the same in poor communities as well as rich.
Private Universities Low income students should be eligible for government assistance
Student Loans Forgive existing public student debt and negotiate for payment of private loan student debt. Establish program to help reimburse students for school loans already paid if they haven’t financially benefitted!
Support Teachers Teachers should be support by their communities with respect and decent livable wages. The quality of education and teacher salary should be the same in poor communities as well as rich.
Teaching and Learning The education system needs to recognize that students don’t always learn in the same way or rate. I find the grading system to be detrimental to wholesome learning. Test with pass/fail system with no negative reference if someone needs many opportunities to pass. Teaching should help encourage debate and discussion. Nothing in real life is black and white.
Election Reform
Get money out of politics. All of it. We should have a public financing system with a limited campaign window. Or allow the necessary public financing to balance voter access with candidates and issue campaigns with excessive financial advantage.
Pass a Federal Voter Rights Bill to regulate election practices of states that restrict the ability to vote fairly.
End gerrymandering. Mandate Independent Commissions to establish voting districts!
Implement Ranked Choice Voting.
End the 60 vote Senate filibuster. A filibuster should only cause a temporary delay (maybe a week) in the legislative process that allows brief expression of strong dissent by a legislator(s).
Enact Proportional Representation.
Abolish the electoral college and elect the president by popular vote.
Term limits for members of Congress. Would support only with strong public financing and equal access to public through the media.
Re-establish the fairness doctrine in media. Require social media algorithms that allow for diverse viewpoints to users!
Establish reasonable free and equal access for candidates and propositions on media that uses public airways and internet.
End ballot statement fees and include candidate website on voter ballot
Provide for fair ballot access and regulations.
Full ex-felon voting including probation period.
Lower voting age to 16. Engaging youth in the election process should help increase greater participation as adults. Non-partisan discussion and election promotion during school hours but the Equal Access Act (EAA), passed by Congress in 1984 controls as to after school clubs!
Energy & Climate
Climate Emergency The U.S. needs to lead the world in attacking the climate catastrophe with the same level of effort as was made during WWII
EPA – Environmental Protection Agency
Toxic Chemicals I support the ability of the EPA to find “reasonable certainty of no harm” before chemicals could enter or stay on the market. Because of the chemical industry’s influence in Congress, I oppose any law that would pre-empt the ability of states to impose stricter standards. CA has some of the most stringent chemical safety regs in the nation. In fact, at least 18 states have enacted more than 200 laws or policies governing chemical safety due to lack of action under TSCA.
Congress passed a major overhaul of the 1976 Toxic Substances Control Act with bipartisan support on June 7, 2016. The bill was a compromise between industry groups wanting predictable, federal regulations and consumer advocates who long argued TSCA didn’t do enough to protect Americans from unsafe chemicals. The new soon-to-be law includes important policy advances: The bill allows the Environmental Protection Agency to regulate chemicals based on their human health effects alone, and it will ultimately allow the EPA to review 20 chemicals at a time, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Generally, state action on a chemical is preempted only when EPA has acted – either by finding a chemical to be safe or by regulating a chemical to address identified risks. State action is also temporarily “paused” when EPA is evaluating a chemical, although states can avail themselves of a mandatory waiver from the “pause” if they still seek to pursue their own regulation.
For nearly 40 years, industrial chemicals have been regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency under the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976, one of the oldest existing environmental statutes. Since the law was passed, though, the EPA has regulated – or attempted to regulate – just five dangerous substances that were on the books before 1976 and four new chemicals, and has fully tested only a couple hundred chemicals for safety. That’s a minuscule percent of the roughly 84,000 chemicals on the market today, or even of the 22,000 that have come on the market since the law was passed. About 62,000 chemicals were grandfathered in when the law was passed. See Open Secrets and Toxic Chemicals.
Equal Rights
The foundation of any democratic society is the guarantee that each member of society has equal rights. Respect for our constitutionally protected rights is our best defense against discrimination and the abuse of power. There is an intimate connection between our rights as individuals and our responsibilities to our neighbors and the planet.
We should strive to secure universal and effective recognition and observance of the principles and spirit expressed in the United National Universal Declaration of Human Rights as an international standard that all nations must meet.
Equal Rights Amendment (ERA)
My Congressional Campaign Statement I fully support the passage of the ERA. While the original United States Constitution may have been a major step in world history as to rights and freedoms it also only recognized white male property owners as worthy of those freedoms. Our constitution minus amendments would now be considered one of the worst in the world. Despite a number of amendments that have address some of our original constitution’s short comings, the recognition of the same rights and freedoms for women and LGBTQIA community has been long delayed. With the recognition that we have a Supreme Court that is especially antagonistic toward individual rights of people, we need the ERA amendment more than ever. Time to recognize the rights of women and LGBTQIA community with the passage of the ERA.
Foreign Policy
End Our Foreign Wars The U.S continues to be the greatest purveyor of violence in the world as MLK said in the late 60’s. I believe the situation is much worse today!
Guns
Universal Background Checks We need universal background checking everywhere; stores, gun shows and individual sales.
IDs on all guns like cars do. Maybe each separate part of a gun
No Assault weapons except for legitimate gun collectors.
Child Safety devices with guns.
Parents responsible for minor’s access.
Need License and training to have or use a gun
Need liability Insurance to own a gun!
Green New Deal
The Green Party first began calling for a Green New Deal in the United States in 2010. It combined a 10-year timeline for a transition to 100% clean, renewable energy and zero emissions, with an Economic Bill of Rights focused on a guaranteed living wage job, universal health care (expanded and Improved Medicare for All), housing, and education. The Green New Deal – Green Party
Healthcare
Medicare for All We need a Medicare for All similar but all the better than other industrialized nations. If government is the single payer of healthcare, it will be motivated to promote healthy people and environment.
Housing
Affordable Housing Housing should be a right. Providing decent housing to all makes for a better safer community and it is cost effective.
Rent Control Current rent control programs act to imprison low income renters to the same housing that degrades over the years from poor maintenance. All apartment complexes should be under a rent control based on inflation plus maintenance costs and not tied to a particular renter. This would help discourage speculation and free renters to move as needed without undue financial burden.
Stop Real Estate Speculation End housing speculation. End property tax on primary residence. Tax progressively hell multi-home ownership to discourage this practice! Aid public banks & credit unions to prioritize home ownership!
Walkable Neighborhoods Government should be active in maintaining friendly, safe and environmentally sound communities Create Car less communities and cities in future. Promote bicycle and pedestrian friendly communities.
Stop the Ellis Act Evictions The Ellis Act (California Government Code Chapter 12.75) is a 1985 California state law that allows landlords to evict residential tenants to “go out of the rental business” in spite of desires by local governments to compel them to continue providing rental housing.
Immigration
Amnesty Policing the U.S.’s over 15 million undocumented is a waste of tax money. It also wastes FBI, community police and border control time and energy. We need a comprehensive immigration policy.
Asylum Seekers Respect the humanitarian rights of refugees as required by International Law and the United Nations. Need to end Title 42, where over 1.7 million people seeking refuge in the United States have been expelled at the southern border, almost always without being allowed to make an asylum claim or have their day in court, despite the legal right to seek asylum in the U.S. Human Rights First documented more than 10,000 kidnappings, rapes, and attacks on people turned away at the border because of Title 42.
Need a Humane Foreign Policy Stop negatively interfering with other nations and their people. No more wars, coups, and sanctions! No more military and police aid. No more using NGOs to subvert governments! Only foreign aid should be provided that promotes Democracy and the well-being of the people (e.g. water, electricity sewage, food production).
Path To Citizenship Green cards and reasonable path to citizenship for those undocumented.
Support Dreamers Quick citizenship available for Dreamers.
Work Visas Low-cost renewable yearly work visas not connected to any company! Government should provide information, assistance and protection when needed. Limit the visas for skilled workers if Americans can do the work. Skilled worker visas have been used to lower wages and benefits in the workplace.
Inequality
Living Wages We need a guaranteed living income for all U.S. adults regardless of work status that includes those on SSI and Social Security. Tax the rich whatever it takes!
Unions Get rid of “Right to be Slave” laws. Promote right to form unions. Encourage a National Union of all workers regardless of corporate or industry status! Unions should have united and shut down the country when President Reagan fired all the air traffic controllers. Horrible mistake by the AFL-CIO. This was the beginning of union membership decline!
Cooperatives Allow workers first right to purchase companies being closed or moved along with public financing. Promote Cooperatives businesses!
Interest Rates
Prohibit Usury
Limit Credit Card Interest Rates Limit maximum rate of 10% over Federal Prime Interest Rate
Internet
Internet Neutrality I fully support Network Neutrality, most commonly called net neutrality, which is the principle that Internet service providers (ISPs) must treat all Internet communications equally, and not charge users different rates based on content, website, platform, application, type of equipment, source address, destination address, or method of communication. With net neutrality, ISPs may not intentionally block, slow down, or charge money for specific online content. Without net neutrality, ISPs may prioritize certain types of traffic, meter others, or potentially block traffic from specific services, while charging consumers for various tiers of service.
In 2017, Trump’s Republican FCC Board overturned Obama’s FCC net neutrality policy. Currently there is no Net Neutrality except in California. Late in 2021, Biden named Jessica Rosenworcel the permanent chair of the FCC. Biden’s other nominee for the FCC, Gigi Sohn, had her Senate confirmation hearing in December and now awaits votes from the committee and full Senate. If Sohn makes it through the confirmation process, Democrats will have the necessary 3-2 majority to lead the agency and reestablish the FCC’s authority to impose rules of the road for the internet.
Internet Access I support full free access to the internet. The internet should be a government run utility available to everyone across the country.
Judicial Law Reform
Abolishing Civil Asset Forfeiture
Legalize Cannabis at the Federal Level
Ending Cash Bail across the United States.
Labor
Unions Get rid of “Right to be Slave” laws. Promote right to form unions. Encourage a National Union of all workers regardless of corporate or industry status! Unions should have united and shut down the country when President Reagan fired all the air traffic controllers. Horrible mistake by the AFL-CIO. This was the beginning of union membership decline!
Cooperatives Allow workers first right to purchase companies being closed or moved along with public financing. Promote Cooperatives businesses!
Work Visas Low-cost renewable yearly work visas not connected to any company! Government should provide information, assistance and protection when needed. Limit the visas for skilled workers if Americans can do the work. Skilled worker visas have been used to lower wages and benefits in the workplace.
Mass Shootings
We must look at the broader issues around the epidemic of violence in this country. “We need to stop normalizing gun violence and discuss real systemic solutions. More
In the 10 years since Sandy Hook, 2,654 mass shootings have occurred. Just one day before the shooting, the FBI reported a 52.5% increase in active shooter incidents in the U.S. from 2020 to 2021. It is essential to point out that due to federal legislation in 1997 stating “none of the funds made available for injury prevention and control at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) may be used for research on gun violence” that the federal government essentially blocked funding for preventive measures until 2019 when Congress specifically allocated funds to the CDC more than twenty years later.
Medicare
Medicare Direct Contracting and REACH Demand an end to Medicare Direct Contracting and REACH. This program pays third-party middlemen to manage seniors’ care, allowing them to keep as profit what they don’t spend on medical services. Even worse, seniors who chose Traditional Medicare are being automatically enrolled in Direct Contracting without their knowledge or consent. We cannot let Wall Street profiteers take over Medicare.
Medicare for All
Healthcare should be a guaranteed right of all people. Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government as in “universal healthcare,” or “medicare for all”. As we have seen with covid and other diseases it only makes sense to cover everybody in the U.S. regardless of their immigration or visitor status.
Medicare for All exists in a variety of forms across the industrial nations of the world. We thus should be able to create the best Medicare for All in the world! It is insane that the U.S. does not have Single Payer Medicare for All like most of the nations in the industrial developed world. Millions of Americans have died and tens of millions have suffered from the lack of affordable quality healthcare.
Although Democrats have had total control of California for years and their platform calls for Medicare for All, the corporate beholden Democratic Party always finds a reason not to pass Medicare for All during the past ten years despite supposedly progressive Democratic Governors. When Arnold Schwarzenegger was Governor, he twice vetoed in 2006 and 2008 the only Democratic legislative Medicare for All bill ever passed in California. Despite increasing Democratic control in California where Republicans effectively have no say, Democrats continue to refuse to pass Medicare for All despite overwhelming support among the public.
Because of how poor our current profit driven insurance driven healthcare has been, we should expect some initial increased costs caring for people that have long been neglected. As everyone first starts getting the complete affordable healthcare that have been denied in the past, overall healthcare costs will go down gradually in future years.
With the government covering all of Medicare for All costs, the government would have a tremendous incentive to make all our lives safer in the products we buy, the food we eat, in promoting lifelong healthcare, in creating safer work and living environments, in a less toxic environment in our air, water and ground and more.
I have heard many great ideas on how Medicare for All would pay for itself. I would like to offer an additional way that I have never heard mentioned. The top 25 products or services that are shown to cause adverse medical conditions in people, should be charged a surcharge to cover those medical costs. For example, if car accidents cause several $billion in health costs each year, then the that cost over the average life of the car should be added to the manufacturing cost of the car. This would help the government in covering healthcare costs from car accidents. This shouldn’t add significant costs to the car manufacturer but would save the taxpayers significant in paying for Medicare for All. There would be additional incentive for car manufacturers to make safer vehicles!
Military
Repeal the 2001 AUMF The Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) (Pub.L. 107–40 (text) (PDF), 115 Stat. 224) is a joint resolution of the United States Congress which became law on September 18, 2001, authorizing the use of the United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the September 11 attacks.
End Our Foreign Wars The U.S continues to be the greatest purveyor of violence in the world as Martin Luther King said in the late 60’s. The Military-Industrial Complex has become that grave danger to America that President Eisenhower warned about as he left office in 1960!
Cut Military Budget Military budget has become cash cow for the Military Industrial Complex.
Close 90% of U.S. foreign military bases
Military Pay Our low-ranking military personnel are being paid close to minimum wage while required to risk their lives for our country (actually for the military-industrial complex).
Military-Industrial-Prison Complex
My Congressional Campaign Statement We have a government and mainstream media under the control of the military-industrial-prison complex and a few hundred powerful and rich people who comprise the Deep State. They act to smear and frame those who might successfully oppose them.
MICIMATT It is the Military-Industrial-Congressional Intelligence-Media-Academia-Think Tank Complex. They now control everything in your life. Your employment, your income, your food, your heath, your education, your politicians, your information sources. They know almost everything about you and what you do in your life. They now own you and can manipulate even what you think & believe!
Police Reform
Prosecute Police Abuse There is no excuse to train police to shoot to kill just because they believe they feel threaten. Just like anyone in society, if you kill someone you need to be independently investigated and tried the same as anyone else.
End Qualified Immunity There shouldn’t be any qualified immunity, in fact these highly trained individuals, trusted with lethal weapons should be held to a higher standard
Stop Police Militarization Equipping police like they are soldiers in a war zone does not create a safe neighborhood, but distrust and fear. It promotes a me and them attitude among police. It encourages violence over de-escalation!
Mandatory Bodycams Bodycams have helped expose false narratives by police involved in violent encounters. They need to be better and more locations including vehicle and weapons.
Community Policing Unarmed or lightly armed police walking or bicycling a community where they learn to know the people helps create a peaceful friendly neighborhood. De-escalation tactics work best with community policing where people having mental episodes or committing petty crimes are seen as humans and not threats.
Independent Investigations The State should lead independent investigations of all incidents of police involved violence, instead of local internal police/DA run investigations.
Evidence Transparency All evidence concerning violent actions by police should be promptly turned over to the DA, state agencies and attorneys for families of victims of police violence. Police should be required to immediately write report of incidents and to submit to prompt interviews by DA and other investigative offices when place on leave.
Political Activities Police, individually or through unions, should not be able to endorse, fund raise or otherwise support candidates for elected office that might have future official involvement or official business with police.
National Database of Police Misconduct On the anniversary of George Floyd’s death, President Biden issued an executive order addressing policing. While largely symbolic, one useful thing it did was finally create a national database of police misconduct. Although as an Executive Order it can easily overturned by another President.
Presidential and Government Powers
End the AUMF – Authorization for Use of Military Force The authorization granted the President the authority to use all “necessary and appropriate force” against those whom he determined “planned, authorized, committed or aided” the September 11 attacks, or who harbored said persons or groups. The AUMF was passed by the 107th Congress on September 14, 2001 and signed into law by President George W. Bush on September 18, 2001. Since 2001, U.S. Presidents have interpreted their authority under the AUMF to extend beyond al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan to apply to numerous other groups as well as other geographic locales. In December 2016, the Office of the President published a brief interpreting the AUMF as providing Congressional authorization for the use of force against al-Qaeda and other militant groups. Today, the full list of actors the U.S. military is fighting or believes itself authorized to fight under the 2001 AUMF is classified and therefore a secret unknown to the American public https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Authorization_for_Use_of_Military_Force_of_2001
Improve Freedom of Information Act as to access and promptness The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. § 552, is a federal freedom of information law that requires the full or partial disclosure of previously unreleased information and documents controlled by the United States government upon request. The act defines agency records subject to disclosure, outlines mandatory disclosure procedures, and defines nine exemptions to the statute.[1][2] The act was intended to make U.S. government agencies’ functions more transparent so that the American public could more easily identify problems in government functioning and put pressure on Congress, agency officials, and the president to address them.[3] The FOIA has been changed repeatedly by both the legislative and executive branches. Apart from the U.S. federal government’s Freedom of Information Act, the U.S. states have their own varying freedom of information laws. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_Information_Act_(United_States)https://www.foia.gov/
End the Patriot Act The USA PATRIOT Act (commonly known as the Patriot Act) was a landmark Act of the United States Congress, signed into law by President George W. Bush. The formal name of the statute is the Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT) Act of 2001. The Patriot Act was enacted following the September 11 attacks and the 2001 anthrax attacks with the stated goal of dramatically tightening U.S. national security, particularly as it related to foreign terrorism. In general, the act included three main provisions:
expanded surveillance abilities of law enforcement, including by tapping domestic and international phones;
easier interagency communication to allow federal agencies to more effectively use all available resources in counterterrorism efforts; and
increased penalties for terrorism crimes and an expanded list of activities which would qualify for terrorism charges.
The law is controversial due to its authorization of indefinite detention without trial of immigrants, and due to the permission given to law enforcement to search property and records without a warrant, consent, or knowledge. (Though generally, they need a warrant or consent to conduct the search.)[2] Since its passage, several legal challenges have been brought against the act, and federal courts have ruled that a number of provisions are unconstitutional.
Protecting Our Democracy Act House passed a bill in December that would impose significant curbs on executive power after the Trump years, including a provision that would require disclosure of the emergency action documents to congressional overseers.
Prison System
Prisons Eliminate Private Prisons. Corporate Prisons have the financial incentive to lobby for harsher laws and more people to be imprisoned. Public prisons provide financial incentive to reduce prison population, rehabilitate, prevent recidivism.
Community involvement End all the obscene surcharges that help isolate family and friends from the incarcerated. Encourage family visitations and contact.
End Prison Slavery All prisoners should be paid minimum wage (rate of their home state) for any outside labor. Funds should either go into a prisoner’s monetary account or to support outside family. Monthly pay outs for commissary, etc. expenses should be established out of prisoner’s monetary account. Monitored outside family and friend contributions should be encouraged to prisoner’s account.
Probation Period After Release Housing and other living costs should be guaranteed by state for at least a year or length of probation period, along with public jobs at twice home state minimum wage. Establish programs that help encourage private employment options. Probation mission should be to continue rehabilitation into normal society and prevention of recidivism.
Prisoner Isolation Any frequent or long-term use of this punishment becomes torture and can have lasting negative psychological effects on a prisoner.
Race & Racism
Black Lives Matter This movement has played an important role in the public acknowledging the long-term systematic racism in society against people of color. It has especially brought to attention police oppression and brutality inflicted on people of color and galvanized support for the families who have lost loved ones to unjust police violence.
CRT -Critical Race Theory There needs to be acknowledgement of past wrongs by our society and in our education system. Let’s all work for a better society and world for all. [critical race theory (CRT), intellectual and social movement and loosely organized framework of legal analysis based on the premise that race is not a natural, biologically grounded feature of physically distinct subgroups of human beings but a socially constructed (culturally invented) category that is used to oppress and exploit people of color.]
Equality For All All-lives matter, but special consideration needs to be acknowledged for those communities that have suffered oppression and societal forms of racism.
Reparations I believe any reparations should include programs to help those who most need extra assistance to become full and equal members of society.
Social Security
My Congressional Campaign Statement The minimum SSI and Social Security payments should be the minimum wage in each state. Time in the U.S. legally, should be only limiting factor. All income earned and unearned should be taxed. The age to get Social Security should be lowered to 50-55.
Taxation
My Congressional Campaign Statement Tax the Rich! It is insane to allow individuals to be so wealthy that they can control and compete with our government. Tax the billionaires and other super rich out of existence, income and wealth wise. Have no mercy!
Tax Reform
No tax on Guaranteed Livable Income plus first $5K, but everyone must file a tax return *
Progressive tax rate from 10% on first additional $10K to 99% on income over $10 million*
No deductions, no loopholes*
Also 25% yearly wealth tax on wealth over $20 million*
Same equivalent individual tax rates must be paid by all corporations operating in the US for any corporate management, board members, and stockholders who don’t claim US residence*
We need more wealth equity in the US.
End Regressive Taxes: Government financing from sales tax and primary residence property tax. However, tax additional homes to discourage ownership and make more homes available to first time buyers, especially families.
Transportation
City Design Create Car less communities and cities in future. Promote bicycle and pedestrian friendly communities.
Public Transit Free Public transportation should be a priority.
Trains Promote trains and its infrastructure as an extremely energy efficient transportation system of goods and products. Make high speed trains part of major infrastructure policy and public sponsored employment!
Vehicles Rapid transition from fossil fuel driven vehicles to hybrids and then to all electric. Make vehicles easy to repair, reuse or at least recycle.
Car Sharing Make liability vehicle insurance be paid at the gas pump, at least while fossil fuel dominates transportation. Liability is one of the biggest hinderance to car sharing. Regulate “Ubers” , “Doordashers”and Taxi services as to guarantee worker rights and benefits and for fossil free vehicles.
Ukraine
My Congressional Campaign Statement The climate catastrophe rapidly approaching the world requires a WWII like 100% response that must involve all nations especially China & Russia.
U.S. policy seems to be willing to risk possible nuclear war and the end of all civilization rather than have any peace deal and end to the war! For a more detailed response!
I support Washington D.C. Statehood as it is hard to believe that the residents of Washington don’t have any voting rights in Congress!
For more than 200 years, the residents of Washington, DC have been subjected to systemic inequality and denied the full rights of citizenship that the residents of states enjoy including voting representation in Congress. It is time to right a great historic wrong.
The District of Columbia is the only political and geographical entity within the United States of America whose citizens bear the responsibilities of citizenship, including taxation and Selective Service registration, without sharing in the full rights and privileges of citizenship.
Washington’s residents pay more taxes than residents in 22 states and pay more per capita to the federal government than any state—yet they have no votes in Congress.
DC is subject to the whims of the federal government where Congress interferes with our local laws, local funding and operations.
DC has all the same responsibilities, but not the same rights, as our fellow Americans—we are treated as second-class citizens
Like our counterparts in all 50 states, D.C. residents pay federal taxes, serve in the military and on juries, start businesses and families, and contribute to our national economy.
Yet, we are still unable to control our own budget or our own laws, and we still have no votes in Congress.
DC residents want statehood and made their voter clear during the 2016 referendum with an 86% in favor to make Washington, DC the 51.
Congress passed the Democrat-dominated House by a vote of 232-180. It was the first time that a chamber of Congress had passed such legislation. Currently, legislation was introduced in both chambers and has overwhelming support among Senate Democrats.
The Green Party calls for a complete, thorough, impartial, and independent investigation of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, including the role of the administration of George W, Bush, various U.S. based corporations and interests, and other nations and third parties.”
I have engaged (20 years) in my own independent 9/11 investigation!
Meanwhile, most of the left has just blindly accept the MIPM narrative that has NO facts to support it! Worse yet, many on the left have shamefully joined the MIPM in attacking those who have been trying to expose the truth about our government’s involvement that has given us the AUMF with its unending wars of terror and the Patriot Act with the loss of many of our constitutional freedoms and rights.
Host Andy Steele is joined by Green Party congressional candidate, Michael Kerr, whose campaign platform includes the call for a new investigation into the destruction of the three skyscrapers that fell on September 11th, 2001.
My Specific Congressional Campaign Statement on 9/11
Having studied Science Engineering for 5 years in college, I knew from the first day that it was quite impossible for the twin towers to collapse absent a sophisticated explosive demolition.
Days later the airlines released the passenger lists of all 4 “hijacked” planes, printed in newspapers all around the world. Not only were none of the accused hijackers listed as passengers, but there was no one with an Arabic name either! No one ever explained how the government could know all the “hijacker names” within a couple days or that Osama bin Laden was responsible.
Actually, Ossama bin Laden immediately and repeatedly denied any responsibility and at no time did the FBI ever accuse him on their most wanted list as having been involved in 9/11.
The Bush administration did not want any investigation. Eventually, family members of 9/11 victims forced the Government to investigate the 9/11 attacks. 9/11: Press for Truth
When the 9/11 Commission Report was finally released, I found it to be a fairy tale rather than a serious investigation of what happened concerning the attacks. The 9/11 Commission ignored all the serious questions, doubts and known facts about what had really happened. I saw the report as a confession by my government! The 9/11 family members also accused the government’s 9/11 Commission of lying and cover-up! David Ray Griffin exposed the 9/11 Commission cover-up in his book The 9/11 Commission Report – Omissions and Distortions and his lectures
After many years of research, I have been able to state without any doubt “Absolutely nothing is true about the government/corporate media 9/11 story. ”
9/11 was a massive staged false flag operation that has allowed our government: (1) to pass the AUMF and engage in the “War on Terror” and a series of vicious unilateral invasions of numerous small nations around the Middle East (2) to pass the “Patriot Act”; subvert our Constitutional freedoms and rights, steal $trillions; completely brainwash most of the American people, and severely censor the truth, while calling investigating whistleblowers unpatriotic and crackpots.
Saudi Arabia supplied terrorist names (17 of 19) yet several were still alive after 9/11 in Saudi Arabia.
Several of the “terrorists” were discovered to be working out of U.S. Military bases in the U.S. Unknown to them, they were being groomed to be the 9/11 terrorist patsies. Most likely, they probably thought they were being trained to infiltrate Al Queda.
There were no hijackings of the airliners.
Despite all the security cameras at the airports the government never released any videos or photos of any of these “terrorists” actually boarding any of the 9/11 airliners. The only photo released was of two of them at the Portland, Maine airport boarding an airliner earlier that morning in a flight to Boston.
A few days after 9/11, all the airlines released passenger lists of the 4 “hijacked ” airlines, printed in newspapers all over the world. Not one of the “terrorists” are listed as passengers. In fact, there is no one with an Arab name listed as a passenger!
Airline sized drones actually hit the two towers WTC1 and WTC2. The government claims that the two planes crashing into the towers were both going over 500 miles an hour at sea level. According to professional pilots, this is impossible for an airliner without the pilot loosing total control of plane and probably the plane disintegrating in flight. Yet we are told to believe extremely inexperienced pilots flying their first airliner were able to accomplish the impossible!
The towers WTC1, WTC2 and WTC 7 all collapsed from demolition. This has been proved beyond a shadow of doubt by Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth. Over 3500 Architects and Engineers have staked their professional reputations in calling for a new independent 9/11 investigation.
Never in the over 100 years of steel frame towers has one collapsed into its footprint from fire without a professional created demolition, except on 9/11 when 3 did!
All the characteristics of a demolition were present before and during the collapses of WTC 1,2, and 7.
Dozens of witnesses including many firemen reported explosions prior and during the building collapses including many visual squids during the building collapses.
About 300 firemen died in the tower collapses. NY firemen are the experts on high rise fires, and they clearly never considered it possible for the towers to collapse. In fact, they set up their base command center in the tower ground floor. Firemen near the crash floors had already reported that the tower fires were limited, manageable and they only needed some additional equipment to extinguish these small, isolated fires.
WTC 7 collapsed around 5pm later on 9/11. There were numerous preliminary claims that this 47-story building was about to collapse despite a few isolated fires. Claims were made that the building was badly damaged and dangerous, so it needed to be pulled (demolition). BBC even reported that WTC7 had collapsed, while it was still standing behind the TV reporter! WTC7 did finally collapse as if in a perfect demolition at near speed of gravity without any steel frame resistance.
WTC 1 and 2 can clearly be seen as being blown up as they collapse at near speed of gravity, blasting large steel girders hundreds of feet into other nearby buildings and the surrounding area outside its footprint.
Many of the TV announcers during live broadcasts of the tower collapses remark that it reminds them of the demolitions we have all seen before! Corporate TV never broadcast those comments again!
The 9/11 Commission Report never explains how the towers could have collapsed and never even mention WTC 7 or its collapse at all.
No plane hit the Pentagon.
The flight data released describes a plane that ignored an easy crash into the roof of the Pentagon where many of the top brass have offices and instead made a virtually impossible loop (according to many professional pilots) around to the other side of the Pentagon to hit the newly renovated reinforced walls and mostly empty offices there.
The flight data released further has the plane going over 530 miles an hour (impossible without plane disintegrating) pulling out of a dive to hit the ground floor without scratching the ground.
Pentagon damage was caused by demolition. The damaged area’s walls had just been reinforced to withstand a plane crash or bomb attack. First photos of damage prove that no plane hit Pentagon!
First Pentagon photos indicate first floor was internal blast with structure columns bent outward and to the side.
20-minutes later the strange collapse of damaged Pentagon leaves a sheer wall to the viewers left that also indicates a precision demolition. Computers, filing cabinets, open books on floors along collapsed edge were both undisturbed and not charred by any fire.
Over 10 witnesses on the ground place the Pentagon plane (drone) on a different Northern flight path that couldn’t have caused any of the known Pentagon damage.
Two witnesses working at fire station near Pentagon heliport scrambled for their lives as this drone was destroyed just before hitting Pentagon near heliport. That is the fireball in the Pentagon frames released.
The Pentagon wall and lawn was charred by heliport and all the famous “plane” debris was here.
The damaged Pentagon area included the accounting office where over 20 were killed along with all the office files.
Just the night before 9/11, Donald Rumsfeld declared that over $3 trillion was unaccounted for at the Pentagon and being investigated by the accounting office.
All the phone calls were faked. There was no technology available to make those calls. This was acknowledged by the government in the trial of one of the Guantanamo prisoners.
There was no passenger struggle with hijackers. This fake heroism was used to instill a blind rapid patriotism that made anyone criticizing the 9/11 story as crazy and unpatriotic!
No plane crashed into the Shanksville hole in the ground.
All the passengers and crew of the 4 missing airlines were exterminated but not in plane crashes.
One or two planes landed at Cleveland Airport during 9/11 after airport was abandon due to bomb threat. One plane apparently unloaded passengers at the NASA hanger. None of passengers were ever accounted for.
Several military air exercises during 9/11 created serious confusion with air traffic control centers.
Secret Service allowed President Bush to remain at Florida school for nearly hour during 9/11.
[Added later: President Bush for years kept saying he saw the first plane crash into the tower just before he entered the Florida school. Bush remarked ‘ he must be a lousy pilot’. However, the first plane crash was not broadcast live and wasn’t on TV until later in the day! Did Bush see a “CIA” video of the first plane crash? Personally, I think Bush was clueless about the government conspiracy unfolding on his watch. He may still be!]
Osama bin Laden had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks except as patsy.
Osama bin laden was on the FBI wanted list for many years, but never for the 9/11 attacks.
Osama bin Laden’s death in Pakistan raid was faked.
Osama bin Laden was the prime suspect/witness/architect of 9/11 an information treasure house!
Why wouldn’t the Navy Seals orders be to take Osama bin Laden alive at all costs.
Why with light resistance at the compound would an unarmed Osama standing next to his wife be killed.
Why was his body dumped into ocean, with no photos or DNA?
Was the helicopter crash at the “Osama” compound staged to guarantee public attention to an otherwise secret mission just to “prove” there actually was a raid that found and killed Osama bin Laden.
President Obama, VP Biden and Secretary of State Clinton and many others watched the raid on TV live, but this video was never released to public.
All Saudi and bin Laden family flown out of U.S. without interrogation while U.S. airspace closed right after 9/11 attacks.
Saudi Arabia supplied terrorist names (17) while several were still alive after 9/11 in Saudi Arabia.
Families of 9/11 victims lobbied for over one year to finally force Bush to create the 9/11 Commission.
9/11 Commission ignored witnesses that contradicted government pre-established narrative.
9/11 Commision ignored explaining how WTC towers could collapse and ignored WTC 7 totally.
9/11 Commission Director was in the Bush administration, controlled the investigation & conclusion.
Elements in the governments of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Israel were involved with 9/11 attacks.
9/11 has been the excuse to subvert our freedoms at home and our never-ending wars on others!
Since 2005 I have offered $100K to the first person that can prove (even demonstrate) that our government didn’t plan, manage and cover-up the 9/11 attacks. I have had no takers! But the offer still stands!
My 9/11 Reward website

I have had no takers! I made this challenge in 2005 after the 911 Commission Report was released! It was the families of 9/11 victims that pressured the Bush Administration to have any investigation at all and that was 14 months after the 9/11 attacks, with a “tiny” budget and a 9/11 Commision where several members would later say “the commission was set up to fail”. The 911 Commission had an opportunity to answer the many questions from the families’ of 9/11 victims. They chose to ignore almost all of them. See the documentary 9/11: Press For Truth
Petition signed by over 3500 Engineers and Architects. These professionals are normally among the most conservative group of people in America and yet they have all risked their professional careers and reputations to demand an independent investigation of 9/11. Their petition below:
To the Members of the House of Representatives and of the Senate of the United States of America,
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT:On Behalf of the People of the United States of America, the undersigned Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth and affiliates hereby petition for, and demand, a truly independent investigation with subpoena power in order to uncover the full truth surrounding the events of 9/11/01 — specifically the collapses of the World Trade Center Towers and Building 7. We believe there is sufficient doubt about the official story and therefore the 9/11 investigation must be re-opened and must include a full inquiry into the possible use of explosives that might have been the actual cause of the destruction of the World Trade Center Twin Towers and Building 7.
Toronto Hearings September 5, 2012
Ten years have passed since the World Trade Center attacks of September 11, 2001, and there are still many unanswered questions surrounding that fateful day. In 2011, experts and scientists from around the world gathered in Toronto, Canada to present new and established evidence that questions the official story of 9/11. This evidence was presented to a distinguished panel of experts over a 4-day period. Through their analysis and scientific investigations, they hope to spark a new investigation into the attacks of September 11, 2001. Press For Truth and The International Center for 9/11 Studies Present: “The Toronto Hearings on 9/11: Uncovering Ten Years of Deception”
After years of research and analysis, I find the film “Operation Terror” closely matches my opinion of what happened concerning the 9/11 attacks. The film was never allowed to be shown in any corporate movie theaters, cable TV or YouTube to my knowledge. Why? Because the film is too close to the truth! The film’s director and writers found a way around YouTube censorship by doing a commentary of the film which is worth viewing. The film is a must purchase if you want to know a composite of what many in the authentic 9/11 truth movement thinks. The film doesn’t cover the Pentagon and only briefly the Shanksville frauds!
Concerning the Pentagon
Official Interviews – National Security Alert interviewed over 10 on the ground witnesses that placed the plane seen flying toward the Pentagon as coming in from a very different direction than the government story making it impossible to have caused the documented damage to Pentagon. These witnesses all testified to these same facts to the 9/11 Commission, but their testimony was ignored because it went against the government narrative! more at Pentagon – 9/11
Concerning Shanksville
Again, witnesses contradict government story and are ignored by 9/11 Commission. see Shanksville – 9/11
To be honest, I could speak for hours to reporters about 9/11 and none of it would probably ever make the light of day into an actual published story. I doubt the media will even mention 9/11 associated with my campaign. I certainly would love that, though!
People Demanding a New Independent 9/11 Investigation
Message: It is time for President Biden to act on the climate crisis before it is too late. He should declare a climate emergency and issue critical executive orders as outlined in ClimatePresident.org. He also needs to stop all new fossil fuels and enact a comprehensive Green New Deal with a 10 year timeline to get to zero emissions combined with a strong Economic Bill of Rights.
Tweet: We need @JoeBiden to declare a #ClimateEmergency and issue Executive Orders (ClimatePresident.org). It is time for the Democrats to say No to fossil fuels and their campaign donations. We need an ecosocialist #GreenNewDeal. (http://www.gp.org/green_new_deal)
Background: Climate change is the greatest threat to humanity. At our present rate of greenhouse gas emissions, we will exceed the 1.5 degree C threshold within 7 years. For the last decade, the various Green Party presidential candidates have pledged to take executive action on climate on their first day in office. Green Party candidates first called for a Green New Deal back in 2010.
President Biden promised voters he would take at least some action on climate. Yet he has violated his campaign pledges. For instance, he has increased the number of permits for fossil fuels on federal land despite saying he would end them. He has stood idly by while Senator Manchin, heavily invested in coal, has blocked action of his inadequate and ever shrinking Build Back Better climate budget initiative.
Last week, Biden overruled his own staff and at the last moment refused to declare a climate emergency and take essential executive action on climate. He said after decades in the Senate and the White House that he still needed more time to “study” the issue. Yet is was clear even before Biden took office that a divided Congress owned by the fossil fuel industry was never going to enact any climate legislation and that even the more limited budget reconciliation process was going to be difficult.
2022-06-22 President’s gas holiday of 18 cents/gallon will only accelerate the ravaging of our climate and ecosystems.
And so it has come to this. Today, President Joe Biden called on Congress to suspend federal gasoline and diesel taxes amounting to 18 cents/gallon for three months. He urged states to take similar action.
The past months’ gas prices have been painful for everyday people like us. Had Democrats and Republicans listened to the last 12 years of warnings from Greens and others calling for a Green New Deal — that dependence on fossil fuels was becoming increasingly environmentally and financially unsustainable — we might be in a very different place than we are today.
Instead of accounting for the true cost of dirty energy, pricing it accurately and using that revenue to build a system of 100% clean, renewable, public power, elites in government either obstructed reasonable carbon pricing or did nothing at all. Now, we are paying high prices at the pump and gaining no benefit. The only benefits go to Big Oil’s tyrants and profiteers.
It’s tempting to call this a lack of leadership from Biden, the Democrats and our government. But that would be a mistake. Biden is expertly distracting us from solutions that would empower everyday people, bust up fossil fuel industry collusion, make corporations and the 1% pay a fair share from their windfall profits, and provide a Just Transition away from dirty energy.
Rather than recognize this moment as a giant red flag warning the consequences of dirty energy are rapidly escalating, Biden is recommending we effectively subsidize fossils fuels through this tax “holiday.” His solution to our addiction to oil is to double down. And there is nothing to stop oil companies from offsetting this tax “relief” by increasing their prices!
At the same time, we’ll bleed even more funding away from our shamefully-neglected infrastructure. All for what is, at best, a gimmick to win votes. Abolishing student debt, for which we have long advocated, would alleviate immense stress on the households of everyday people without sending a single puff of additional greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Elites treat this idea with scorn.
A gas holiday of 18 cents/gallon will only accelerate the ravaging of our climate and ecosystems.

2022-06-12 Rising prices for the necessities of life are hurting everyday people.
And while many of us are still reeling from the pandemic and related economic crash, our government’s response is to drive down wages, raise interest rates, and make sure it’s not too easy for working people to find employment.
That’s because they think it’s just fine for the wealth of billionaires to skyrocket during a global health crisis, but everyday people gaining a tiny bit of leverage against their employers can only be regarded as a problem that must corrected.
Meanwhile, state legislatures have subjected us to a disgusting display of partisan gerrymandering to make your vote worth less and ensure the security of incumbents who have sworn fealty to the corporate state.
The parties of war and Wall Street will miss no opportunity to drive down the value of your take-home pay, drive down the power of your vote, and drive down the number of choices you have on election day.
People like us have to step up and fight back against this economic and electoral squeeze. There are solutions to inflation that don’t place the burden solely on working people. There are ways to vote that don’t trap us between two wings of a corporate oligarchy.

Left Unity Strategy Pays Off for California’s Green Party and Peace and Freedom Party
PRESS RELEASE
June 10, 2022, Sacramento, CA – California’s Green Party and Peace and Freedom Party are pointing to major electoral advances after Tuesday’s primary election that ensured both parties ballot status until 2026 – they credit historic cooperation between the two parties in creating the first-ever “Left Unity Slate” of statewide candidates that resulted in significantly higher-than-usual vote totals. In October of 2021, the Green Party and the Peace and Freedom Party endorsed a statewide “Left Unity Slate” of Green and, Peace and Freedom candidates for the 2022 June primary and did not officially compete for the same offices.
“Those who crafted the Top Two Primary scheme did so with the intention of freezing us out,” said Kevin Akin, State Chair of the Peace and Freedom Party, adding, “Today, as a result of forming the ‘Left Unity Slate,’ most of our statewide candidates received more than 2 percent of the vote, enough to ensure ballot status for both parties for another four years.” Some “Left Unity Slate” candidates did even better than that overall, and in some parts of the state garnered nearly 10 percent. 2022-05-31 Protect and Expand Access to Abortion Services
The Green Party of the United States urges people to join actions nationwide to protect and expand access to abortion services. We must stop the criminalization of abortions to permanently protect all people’s right to safe, legal, accessible, and confidential healthcare. Reproductive rights are non-negotiable! While Supreme Court Justice Alito’s leaked draft opinion is not the final Supreme Court decision, it claims the right to abortion is unconstitutional and attacks the reproductive rights of women, transgender people, and non-binary people. Lack of abortion access will also impact both parents who may be mandated to pay for child support of unwanted pregnancies. Additionally, the repercussions of ending these reproductive rights may lead to criminalizing the freedom to love and marry on the basis of race or sexual preference. CONTINUE READING
2022-05-24 Green New Deal
The Green Party first began calling for a Green New Deal in the United States in 2010. It combined a 10-year timeline for a transition to 100% clean, renewable energy and zero emissions, with an Economic Bill of Rights focused on a guaranteed living wage job, universal health care (expanded and Improved Medicare for All), housing, and education.
Call President Biden and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer today to demand a true Green New Deal. (If you can’t make the call today, contact them any day you want!)
Message: We need bold action now on climate change.
Enact the Green Party’s original ecosocialist Green New Deal with an immediate halt to new fossil fuels
a rapid ten-year transition to real zero emissions and 100% clean renewable energy
several trillion dollars annually for an Economic Bill of Rights
funds need to be targeted for a Just Transition and environmental justice
More for President Biden: We need the White House to declare a climate emergency and issue executive orders on climate as outlined in climatepresident.org

2022-05-12 $40 billion worth of arms to pour gasoline on the already-raging inferno in Ukraine
Can you believe it? $40 billion worth of arms to pour gasoline on the already-raging inferno in Ukraine.
Every. Single. House. Democrat voted in favor, sending this bill to the Senate.
Meanwhile? Parents in this country are struggling to afford (or even find!) baby formula to feed their infants. Baby formula. COVID relief is “languishing,” according to Common Dreams. The cost of living is skyrocketing.
Enough is enough, Michael. We have two parties prioritizing war and Wall Street at the expense of everyone else and no one looking out for the people and our planet.
Here are some of the Green Party’s priorities:
We need an immediate cease-fire in Ukraine and an international commitment to diplomacy and negotiations. The killing must stop and all parties must end the cycle of escalation and violence.
We need an ecosocialist Green New Deal at home to invest in our communities’ healthcare, education and jobs while saving our planet from the climate crisis.
We need to finally democratize our elections through measures like proportional representation, ranked choice voting, fair ballot access and public campaign finance to end the tyranny of elites over women, LGBTQ+ people and BIPOC communities.
At home, they’re making war on the right to an abortion.
People power can elect more Greens and win a Green Agenda while in office. People power can transform our system and end these travesties.

2022-05-08 Happy Mother’s Day
The origins of Mother’s Day has values that speak to the Green values of today. Women of the time organized for peace, fighting poverty and alleviating unsanitary living conditions for poor women and children.
The Green Party stands against wars and imperialism that brutalize, displace and traumatize women and children. Our 10 Key Values resonate with the early iterations of a “Mother’s Day” that had peace, equal rights and access to child care as its focus.
What does Mother’s Day 2022 offer the over 17 million U.S. women and their children living in poverty today? The Democrats have failed to renew the Child Tax Credit that provided critical assistance during the pandemic. In the long term, neither corporate political party has prioritized a national initiative to eliminate poverty and hunger in the richest country in the world. In fact, their positions on war, climate and health care contribute to the loss of life in our most vulnerable communities.
On this Mother’s Day let’s honor the women who nurture us by building a political movement that promotes peace and non-violence here and abroad. Cutting billions from the bloated military budget will give the gift of improved Medicare-For-All, food security and universal, federally funded child care to all families. It takes a political party like the Green Party to replace aggression and occupation with disarmament and diplomacy and we need your support to promote that project for peace.

2022-05-08 Leaked Supreme Court Roe v. Wade Decision Could Mean Massive Danger to Reproductive Healthcare, Invasion of Privacy
WASHINGTON – The Green Party of the United States has expressed alarm and calls to organize for the right to safe, legal and confidential access to abortions, following reports of a leaked draft Supreme Court majority opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade.
“This is an extremely disturbing decision from the Supreme Court,” said Green Party National Women’s Caucus Spokesperson Holly Hart. “It would overturn decades of understanding and policy that protected women’s privacy and health. If access to safe abortion is handed to state legislatures, we will see a greater erosion of access throughout the country. Tragically, some of the most severe limitations and hardships will fall on poor women, and women with health problems. Denying access to safe abortions in the past has done little or nothing to reduce their number. Instead, we can expect to see ‘destination clinics’ where women will have to travel. Those without resources will resort to ‘back-alley’ abortion providers,” said Hart. Read more…

2022-05-08 National Lavender Greens Caucus Statement on Leaked Draft SCOTUS Opinion
The National Lavender Green Caucus unequivocally denounces this assault on the bodily autonomy of those who can become pregnant. The leaked draft US Supreme Court opinion first circulated by Politico, if finalized, would throw out nearly five decades of protection for an individual’s right to a safe and legal abortion. The draft decision also makes it abundantly clear that the conservative majority on our nation’s highest court is setting up future challenges to LGBTQIA+ rights.
Justice Alito’s reasoning for overturning Roe v. Wade could be applied to existing case law in cases such as Obergefell v. Hodges (marriage equality), Lawrence v. Texas (sexual equality) and even Loving v. Virginia (interracial marriage). While the opinion attempts to dismiss these concerns, those statements ring hollow. Put simply, this decision sets the stage for the eventual erosion of the fundamental protections that queer people have been fighting for in the country for generations. Time and time again we see the people in power in both the big parties using our bodies, our safety, and our pleas for justice as rallying cries for votes and donations, only to abandon us once elected. Pelosi has been a disaster for the Democratic Party for promoting losing corporate policies over publicly supported progressive ones like Medicare for All.

2022-06-16 Shahid Buttar Concedes Election Loss and gives his Reflections on the Campaign
I’m sorry to report that—despite our best efforts—we were unable to emerge from the jungle primary and proceed to the general election. The final results from the SF Board of Elections show us finishing with 19,431 votes.
Unfortunately, that result leaves us 587 votes (out of 186,473 cast) away from the second place finish that would have placed us in the general election.
In each of those appearances, I offered some reflections on our race and suggested a few opportunities for the movement going forward.
I’d be interested to read any responses to those reflections that you might be moved to share.

Shahid has slowly gained on the Republican candidate as the votes are being conducted.

2022-06-07 Voter Turnout very Low, News Coverage almost Non-existent
Voter turnout in the United States is notoriously low as a general rule. But even by our country‘s sad historical standards, turnout in the jungle primary concluding today remains embarrassingly low.
Across the State of California, fewer than 15% of of eligible voters having cast ballots during the early voting period. That means that we enter today’s jungle primary knowing that every vote can make a difference.
In 2020, winning the top-two primary made me the first Democrat to ever face the sitting Speaker of the House in a general election.
Now, we’re back to build on the unprecedented 81,000 votes that we secured despite a media whiteout, a global pandemic, and a public character assassination relying on (and unfortunately reinforcing) racial and religious stereotypes.
Over the course of the primary election cycle, media outlets serving San Francisco have widely chosen to ignore this race entirely. News organizations from CNN and Politico to the LA Times have even written stories presuming the outcome, prognosticating about Pelosi’s plans to put her daughter in her seat presuming that she is allowed—despite documented corruption—to retire on her own terms.
That’s one reason why we’ve been so grateful to the few journalists who have shown up for work, like Eric Ting at SF Gate, Valerie Ibarra and “Diamond” Dave Whitaker at Mutiny Radio, SF Examiner columnist Lincoln Mitchell, and Timothy Regan at KPFA.
Make sure that everyone you know here in San Francisco heads to the polls today! Statistically speaking, it’s more likely than not that they have yet to vote.

2022-06-07 Empathy Circle
Joined by an Occupy SF organizer, Regan hosted an “Empathy Circle” among candidates in our race that KPFA 94.1 FM aired this past weekend on his weekly program, “Talk It Out.” It was a fascinating experience, both in substance and process.
In process, the Empathy Circle enabled a very different style of dialog from a debate. Unfortunately, even the collaborative and non-adversarial format remained too intimidating for Pelosi to show up. Substantively, it offered a chance to reflect on the incumbent’s sad relationship to democracy.
“I’ve spent a lot of time…trying to liberate our city’s voice in Washington, noting that the oligarch who inhabits this seat has never debated a challenger in the 35 years that she has held it. [That’s] an absolutely preposterous reflection of entitlement and privilege of the worst conceivable kind….[indicating] disrespect for the voters and district…implicit in not showing up for a debate for an entire generation….If you’re not going to debate in public…someone has no business running for office.”

2022-06-03 Marianne Williams’ “Time for a Change” Endorsement
This is a sad and chaotic time in America, and we are challenged to change. From mass shootings to environmental damage to attacks on our reproductive rights, things are not working. We are faced with the knowledge that in many ways our system has failed us.
Nothing will seriously change if we continue to elect the same people who led us into this mess, in the hopes they can lead us out of it.
Nancy Pelosi has served in the House of Representatives since 1987; she has been Speaker of the House for a total of seven of those years. Even if I did not object to her support for a Congressional candidate who has an NRA A rating and is the sole pro-choice Democrat in the House, and even if I did not object to her support for stock trading by members of Congress; even if I did not object to her support for endless defense spending and oil drilling and subsidizing Big Oil – I would still be hoping for a new era of leadership in America.
No one who has served in the halls of power for almost 35 years then has the consciousness or temperament to oppose that system; at this point they have become the system.
That is why I support Shahid Buttar in his primary bid to replace her as the Democratic candidate for Congress in California’s 11th congressional district. Nancy Pelosi’s leadership is a perpetuation of what has become a corrupt system in Washington, and we will not drive the car out of the ditch by looking to the same people who drove us into it.
Shahid’s background as a lawyer, non-profit leader and peace activist has made him a strong voice for change. This isn’t an election about personalities; it’s an election about policies. I am longing to see new faces, new voices, and new policies in Washington. We can turn what has become a government “of the corporations, by the corporations and for the corporations” back into a government that at least tries to be “of the people, by the people and for the people.” It is up to us to make the change, to end the season of our political despair.
2022-05-30 Challenging the Military Industrial corruption
Too many other veterans come home with shattered bodies, or minds torn by memories of what they’ve seen, or families challenged by burdens like remote parenthood or living in constant fear of a loved one’s safety.
We’re working on Memorial Day weekend to challenge an oligarch with a long history of complicity in military industrial corruption. Can you join us today to put the lives of veterans before the profits of weapons manufacturers?
Veterans sign up to defend the United States. But time after time, a bipartisan consensus in Washington emerges to place them at grave risk not to defend our country, but instead to extend Wall Street’s interests. That has proven to be the case in every conflict since the Second World War.
Veterans are not expendable salespeople for weapons contracts. Yet, that’s how Washington treats them, whichever party is in the White House.
They deserve civilian leadership that reflects the enormity of their sacrifice and treats them with the respect they deserve—not just in words, but in action.

2022-05-26 Yesterday was the second anniversary of the murder of George Floyd by police in Minneapolis.
It was also the day after our nation’s latest mass shooting, in which 19 students and two teachers died during a 40 minute rampage by a gunman while police stood outside the building, working mostly to prevent parents from attempting to rescue their children.
On the anniversary of George Floyd’s death, President Biden issued an executive order addressing policing. While largely symbolic, one useful thing it did was finally create a national database of police misconduct. We’ve called for that since 2018, and are pleased to see the White House finally step up, even if the move is years late and too many lives short.
Other reforms that we brought forward include ending Qualified Immunity so that police can be held responsible in court for their abuses of civil rights, abolishing civil asset forfeiture, legalizing cannabis at the federal level, and ending cash bail across the United States.
Each of these measures remains vital, and important parts of a vision that amounts to more than the sum of its parts. Ultimately, our country needs to invest in alternatives to predatory policing, particularly social workers better poised to promote public safety and support people and communities in crisis.

2022-05-25 Pelosi and Corporate Democrats help NRA supporter and Anti-Choice Democrat win primary against strong Progressive candidate Cisneros
Yesterday, the future took several steps backwards in Texas. We write to observe some patterns that you won’t hear about from most news sources.
The latest mass shooting left 21 young people dead at an elementary school in a mostly Latino neighborhood outside San Antonio, just a week after a white supremacist murdered 10 Black shoppers in a grocery store in Buffalo, NY.
On the very same day that schoolchildren were executed en masse in Texas, local voters went to the polls for a runoff election in the 28th congressional district. Rather than embrace progressive challenger Jessica Cisneros, voters chose incumbent Henry Cuellar—a corporate Democrat backed by the National Rife Association who has also openly opposed abortion rights.
First, Cuellar’s margin of victory was absurdly fragile. Based on last night’s preliminary results, he exceeded Cisneros by less than 200 votes, in an election in which over 50,000 people voted.
In that context, Nancy Pelosi’s outrageous support for Cuellar played a crucial role in keeping Cisneros out of the House, undermining widespread calls for both gun control and reproductive freedom.
While the press is reporting on last night’s election as a Cuellar victory, or as a Cisneros loss, it’s ultimately a victory for Pelosi, Wall Street, and the corruption of the past as it continues to undermine any hope for the future.
That’s why it’s important to hold leadership—who many other voices appear unwilling to name—accountable. And there’s only one way to do that.

2022-05-24 Can you join us today to hold hypocrisy accountable?
Cisneros is facing headwinds including the substantial weight of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who outrageously supports Cuellar despite mouthing support for abortion rights.
The archbishop of San Francisco denied Nancy Pelosi communion, citing her supposed support for abortion rights. There are so many things wrong with this that I’ll just summarize them quickly.
It’s an impermissible attack on the separation of church and state. Our Constitution includes an Establishment Clause for many good reasons.
It’s an offensive projection of a religious leader’s preferences on the democratic process to undermine fundamental human rights. We invite the archbishop to stay in his lane.
It’s a sad reflection of outright ignorance, since Pelosi is actively undermining the right to choose today, long after having abandoned it years ago. We invite the archbishop to get his facts straight.
It’s yet another example of how journalists construct cults of personality, undermining democratic accountability and their own profession by ignoring facts. We invite editors to expose the hypocrisy that both Pelosi and the archbishop share.
It distracts the news cycle from alternative subjects that could, with any independence, enable change. For instance, the press not only fabricated a narrative that Pelosi is paying a personal price for her supposedly stalwart defense of rights that she is undermining in practice, but continues to ignore stories that could actually help. We invite editors to cover our proposal for states, including California, to pass bills that would activate boycotts of states poised to deny basic rights should Roe fall, in order to threaten commerce and compel the Justices to reject the draft opinion leaked a few weeks ago.

2022-05-21 Congressional members financially benefit by giving Ukraine $40 billion rather than use money to end homelessness!
This week, Congress approved another $40 billion of weapons purchases. That’s twice the amount it would have taken to end homeless across the United States.
Half a million Americans live without housing. Congress made an affirmative choice to abandon their needs, prioritizing the profits of weapons manufacturers first.
The human rights crisis in Ukraine is real. The Pentagon—enabled by Congress—also helped instigate it.
Meanwhile, at least 20 Members of Congress are personally invested in the publicly traded stocks of weapons manufacturers, positioning them to personally profit from their decisions.
This is worse than mere corruption. This is corruption enabling international conflict.
Would you rather see San Francisco’s voice in Washington advocating for a ban on congressional insider trading to stem this corrupting corporate influence on Congress, or instead embodying that corruption?
Nancy Pelosi supporting Congressional insider trading. The video is available on YouTube, as well as Facebook and Twitter, and we encourage you to share it on whichever platforms you use.

Vote Smart Positions MEK 2020
Pro-Choice
Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation? Pro-choice!
I am strong supporter of a women’s right to choose based on Roe vs. Wade guidelines. While I understand that individuals may have honest religious beliefs against abortion. Pro-Choice does not interfere with that right. It is an individual choice. I do not support harassment of women in making that choice. The issue of abortion has been used by both the Democratic and Republican Parties to divide Americans, so people ignore other important issues. The real moto of most politicians and organizations should be “Sanctity of Life Ends at Birth”. Wars and Corporate Profits take precedence over needs of People.
Wealth Inequality
In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket? Yes!
Do you support expanding federal funding to support entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare? Yes!
Wealth Inequity in America and the World is totally unacceptable. We need to tax billionaires out of existence. We need a guaranteed livable income for all American citizens and a partial one for Green card holders. We need the tax rates of the President Dwight ” Ike ” Eisenhower administration but without all the loopholes. I don’t know what maximum income should be, but $3 million (Minimum top 0.1% 2018) seems a more than adequate reward. Corporation need to pay taxes for the society, workers, consumers and environment they profit from. Remaining profits should be split between workers, investors.
Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions? Yes
The Citizen’s United decision by the Supreme Court demands certain Justice’s Impeachment. It is insane to think that our Republic will long survive where big money has free reign over our election system. It is outrageous that a corporation as a legal entity that is separate and distinct from its owners should have the same, but more rights of people in our election system. To refer a corporation as a “legal person” is insanity!
Military-Industrial-Prison Complex
Do you support increasing defense spending? No!
I would slash military spending drastically. We don’t need 800 bases across the globe in over 100 countries. The Military-Industrial-Prison (MIP) complex steals our limited taxes to create more and more weapons. They lobby our Congress on unsubstantiated fears for more wars, continued wars and military sales to other countries. Our foreign Policy is based on providing our tax money to foreign leaders on the condition they buy more U.S. Corporate weapons to threaten neighbors and oppressive their people. The MIP fears a Peaceful oriented Foreign Policy that would help the people of other nations. End mass incarceration!
Economic Growth
Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth? Yes!
Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth? No!
Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19? (2022 Question) Yes
The Government should take an active role in providing decent paid jobs toward maintaining and rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure and affordable housing. For Profit corporations only care about their bottom line and not the betterment of society and people’s living standards. Our Government needs to spend and loan money to promote a Green New Deal. This needs the attention (and more) given to the Race to Moon in the 60’s. Corporate and Income on the top 0.1% need to be drastically increased. No more stock buy backs to inflate stock market at expense of the economy for the bottom 99%.
Education
Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards? Yes!
We do need protected minimum standards on the Federal Level. I never have supported “No Child Left Behind” or most of the Obama’s corrections under “Common Core”. Education should be more locally controlled. Education funding should not be based on property taxes pitting seniors against children. Federal and State tax money should support education. I support a pass/fail system rather than grades. My experience in High School and College, is that the grading system was used mainly to reward a few elites and punish and discourage the rest. Beyond Reading and Math, Critical Thinking should be most important learning skill.
Energy and Environment
Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)? Yes!
Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions? Yes
Scientists now say we have 10 years, maybe less with Trump, to prevent a runaway climate catastrophe. The government needs to treat Climate Change like it did the Race to the Moon. We need more International cooperation with Russia and China. We need to end this crazy anti-Russia narrative and promotion of a new “Cold War”. We either all unite during next 10 years or we all will suffer the dire consequences. The Green New Deal should not become just an empty slogan! Fossil fuels has always been a known limited resource. Now it’s an emergency to end its use!
Gun Safety
Do you generally support gun-control legislation? Yes!
Gun safety issues have always been used as wedge issue between Republicans and Democrats. Mental health screenings and treatment, universal background checks, red flag laws and requiring gun licenses all get broad bipartisan support, according to polls, even among a majority of gun owners. Mass killings, especially at schools, seldom respect politics, religion or social standing. We need sensible gun safety regulations. The Supreme Court has ruled that Americans have a right to keep handguns at home. In a National Poll, 73%, believed the Second Amendment guarantees the rights of Americans to own guns. Confiscation of guns is scare tactic.
Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border? No!
Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship? No
End our cruel illegal foreign policy of wars, coups, sanctions and destabilization of other nations that is the number one reason for mass immigration. Grant Dreamers prompt opportunity for citizenship. Grant everyone now in U.S. a permanent Green card and a reasonable path to citizenship. Issue 10-month work visas not tied to a specific job or corporation with minimum 2 months outside of country allowing indefinite work visa renewals. Encourages needed low skilled workers but discourages family entry. Right now, the strict border control encourages family migration because too risky and expensive to come and go to the U.S.
National Security
Should the United States use military force to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a weapon of mass destruction (for example: nuclear, biological, chemical)? No!
Do you support reducing military intervention in Middle East conflicts? Yes!
The destabilization of greater Middle East is the sole result of U.S. Military and Foreign Policy. With proper monitoring, the U.S. must help people of the Middle East rebuild their own nation. Diplomacy and positive economic aid create positive Peaceful Democratic government. Sanctions and military force create hatred & violence.
Trade
Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
I believe that all international trade deals should be done if it benefits workers, consumers, the environment of the participating nations. International trade deals should not be done just for the benefit of Multi-National Corporations to make more profit. Trade deals must address worker’s fair living wages, working conditions, health and safety in each nation. Trade deals must deal with worker/consumer product safety. Trade deals must be justified in consideration of Green New Deal. No trade deal should in any way supersede the Constitutional Authority of each and all nations. Current trade deals must be scrapped if violating the above.
Administrative Priorities
1. Initiate implementation of the Green New Deal immediately.
1. Climate Crisis needs to be addressed at same level of emergency as we did for WWII. (2022)
2. Implement immediately Medicare For All.
3. Get Big Money out of our Elections via 100% Public financing. Circumvent Citizen United ruling by funding candidates and issues publicly to effectively neutralize big money expenditures. Obtain Funds by special tax on multi-national corporations.
Will use my Congressional bullhorn to attack any policies, tax schemes that don’t help address these issues above.
We have 10 years to save, not just America, but the world from runaway climate catastrophe.
Additional Vote Smart Positions MEK 2022
Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct? No
There is too much corruption in our government and law enforcement. There are inadequate internal protections, investigations and punishment of individuals in our government who are engaged in misconduct and corruption. If necessary, it is also necessary, we must allow external civil lawsuits to change corrupt policies, activities with personal liability for those individuals involved.
Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”)? No
Do you support requiring businesses to provide paid medical leave during public health crises, such as COVID-19? Yes
I am a strong supporter of Medicare for All (Sigle Payer). We need to keep the inadequate for-profit corporate written ACA until we can replace it with a much better Medicare for All. This needs to be done ASAP! It was criminal that Obama and the Democratic Party leadership refused to allow debate on M4A in 2008. The ACA did not protect the middle class from exorbitant price increases in their health insurances. This resulted in the Republicans sweeping the house and Senate in 2010. And eventually the election of Donald Trump.
