Bill Quigley is Associate Director of the Center for Constitutional Rights and a law professor at Loyola University New Orleans. He is a Katrina survivor and has been active in human rights in Haiti for years. He volunteers with the Institute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti (IJDH) and the Bureau de Avocats Internationaux (BAI) in Port au Prince.
Ann Wright is a 29 year US Army/Army Reserves veteran who retired as a Colonel and a former US diplomat who resigned in March 2003 in opposition to the war on Iraq. She served in Nicaragua, Grenada, Somalia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Sierra Leone, Micronesia and Mongolia. In December 2001 she was on the small team that reopened the US Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan. She is the co-author of the book “Dissent: Voices of Conscience.”

Father Louie Vitale PRESENTE & SALUTE!
Our dear friend, Father Louie, died last night after hospitalization from pneumonia.
He had been struggling with worsening dementia for several years, and was living in a care home in Oakland.
Louie was a great inspiration to so many of us in the peace movement for many years, and we each have our special memories of Louie.
I was so saddened to hear of his passing on Wed. night, that I came home and couldn’t stop searching and watching videos of him on youtube.
Attached below are a collection of some of the best that I found. May they provide comfort and solace.
My heart is heavy, and I have a loss of words….but I am deeply grateful to have had him as a friend and a mentor.
I suspect that there will be a beautiful celebration of life event or two or three for him coming soon.
