I created the exhibit at our Ambrose Community Center to honor BP’s Erick J. Hodges. Eyes Wide Open is the American Friends Service Committee’s widely-acclaimed exhibition on the human cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Marine Lance Cpl. Erick J. Hodges Died November 10, 2004 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom 21, of Bay Point, Calif.; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed Nov. 10 by enemy action in Anbar province, Iraq.

Arrested as Veterans For Peace forced out of parade despite legal participation permit. Support for the Military and war is okay at Veterans Day Parades across the country, but veterans who repesent a voice for Peace are violently not allowed.

Land seized from the Shoshone used to test nuclear weapons that can destroy the world in a moment. The United States and Russia have enough nuclear weapons to destroy the entire word many many times over. There have been accidental near misses that could have brought on nuclear war. No one wins a nuclear war!

Since 2006 the Peace Memorial with 4000 crosses helps demonstrate the cost of war Iraq/Afgahnistan in the lost and ruined lives of our military young people and their loved ones, not to mention the millions of victims of our needless wars.

I helped create 75 of first 300 wooden crosses on hillside across from Lafayette Bart station
