2024-02-03 Haniyeh Meets Turkish Intelligence Chief as Decision on Ceasefire Expected Soon   Anadolu, citing security sources, reported that the meeting focused on issues related to the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, particularly on a possible prisoner exchange deal, a cease-fire, and ways to end the blockade.  According to the Turkish agency, the meeting also addressed the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, while emphasizing the importance of establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.   On January 28, a meeting was held in Paris with the participation of Israel, the United States, Egypt and Qatar, to discuss a prisoner exchange deal and the end of the Israeli aggression on Gaza.  Haniyeh confirmed on Tuesday that Hamas received the proposal discussed at the Paris meeting and received an invitation to visit Cairo to discuss the agreement, without specifying the date of the visit.​​​​​​​    https://www.palestinechronicle.com/haniyeh-meets-turkish-intelligence-chief-as-decision-on-ceasefire-expected-soon/

2024-02-02 Information for Sale – Turkiye Arrest More Israeli Mossad Affiliates    Turkish authorities arrested seven people suspected of selling information to the Israeli spy agency Mossad, Reuters news agency reported on Friday.  According to a Turkish security official, the intelligence, provided to the Israelis, was connected with tracking and monitoring local targets.   The official, speaking with Reuters on condition of anonymity, said that Turkish police and the country’s MIT intelligence agency had conducted joint operations in Istanbul and Izmir as part of an investigation by the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor’s office.

Ankara has previously warned Israel of “serious consequences” if it tries to hunt down members of the Palestinian Resistance group, Hamas, living outside the Palestinian Territories, including in Turkiye.  Unlike most Western countries, Turkiye does not classify Hamas as a terrorist organization.  https://www.palestinechronicle.com/information-for-sale-turkiye-arrest-more-israeli-mossad-affiliates/

2024-01-03 Turkiye Arrests 33 on Suspicion of Spying for Israel’s Mossad     Turkiye has arrested 33 people suspected of spying and planning espionage activities on behalf of Israel’s foreign intelligence service Mossad.  According to reports, the arrests followed an investigation by the Istanbul Prosecutor Office’s Terrorism and Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau, focusing on international espionage.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, who shared a video of Operation Mole on the X platform,  said 57 addresses were raided simultaneously in eight provinces. Search operations for 13 other suspects were underway, reports say.  Yerlikaya reportedly said authorities had acted after they had deduced that Israeli intelligence was seeking to carry out “tactical tasks such as reconnaissance, pursuit, assault, and kidnapping against foreign nationals residing in our country”.  https://www.palestinechronicle.com/turkiye-arrests-33-on-suspicion-of-spying-for-israels-mossad/

2023-12-06 Israel vows to pursue Hamas globally, Turkey reacts  Turkey has warned Israel of “serious consequences” should it attempt to pursue members of Hamas living abroad, including those residing in Turkey, conveyed a representative from Turkish intelligence on Monday.    Ronen Bar, the head of Israel’s domestic security agency Shin Bet, previously announced Israel’s commitment to eliminating Hamas globally, even if it requires several years.

“We have been mandated by the government to eliminate Hamas. This is our Munich. We will do it everywhere, in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Turkey, and Qatar. 2023-12-04 Turkey Warns Israel Against Killing Hamas Targets on Its Soil    Turkey warned Israel’s spy agency not to try to kill members of Hamas on its soil, using backchannels to convey the message following reports of plans to assassinate leaders of the Palestinian militant group overseas.   A senior Turkish intelligence official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the MIT intelligence agency told Israeli counterparts at Mossad that such unilateral moves would have serious repercussions for bilateral ties. 2023-11-15 IDF “Stripping” People At Al-Shifa | Israel A “Terror State”, Hamas A “Political Entity”: Erdogan     Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called Israel a “terror state” that is committing war crimes and violating international law in Gaza. Speaking to lawmakers in parliament, Erdogan repeated his view that Hamas is not a “terrorist organisation” but a political entity elected by the Palestinian people. The Turkish leader also called on Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to announce whether Israel has nuclear weapons. An Al-Shifa Hospital official said the Israeli army was “blindfolding, stripping and taking displaced people sheltering to an unknown destination”. A video released by Gaza’s Ministry of Health shows medics at the Al-Shifa Hospital were hit by a shell while attempting to evacuate patients.
