In 1978, I co-founded Covert Information Action Bulletin with former CIA operations officer and anti-imperialist whistleblower Philip Agee and others including Ellen Ray and Bill Schaap, as well as the legendary revolutionary lawyers William Kunstler and Michael Ratner.
CovertAction Quarterly, as it was later renamed, was in print until 2005, never accepting paid advertising. It was relaunched on the Internet in 2018 under the direction of Philip Agee’s son, Chris, now named CovertAction Magazine (CAM).
The magazine has exposed machinations behind U.S. military interventions, while shining a spotlight on covert operations carried out by the CIA around the world. Among others, the courageous CIA whistleblower John Kiriakou joined our board and writes for CAM regularly. CAM also reports on other actors in the intelligence apparatus, including the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
