People for Democratic Party Reform Policies

April 3, 2020

Amended 2/16/2021

To achieve a united Democratic Party that has the trust of all Democrats, the Democratic National Committee must make the following changes.

  1. Stop Interceding in Primary Elections.
    1. Democratic party leaders, including members of Congress and state legislators, must abstain from endorsing candidates before the people have spoken.
    2. End the spreading of false allegations against Democrats at federal, state, and local levels.
    3. Follow and enforce the rules intended to ensure a level playing field.
  2. Instill Democracy in the Democratic National Committee and state party organizations
    1. Allocate delegates to  the DNC Convention based on Democratic party participation so that representation of democrats by delegates is equal.
    2. Replace appointments with elections in the selection of delegates to DNC Standing committees that have geographic diversity in addition to equal representation.
    3. The DNC Chair shall be elected and never an appointed position.
    4. Pledged DNC Convention Delegates elected by States and Territories are voting Delegates. All automatic delegates have the right to attend and speak in debate, but not to vote or make motions.
  3. End Cronyism
    1. End blacklisting of vendors who support opponents of incumbents
    2. Replace favoritism and patronage with merit-based vendor selection
    3. Install knowledgeable and qualified experts to develop advanced digital tools
  4. Enforce the Party Platform
    1. Hold Congress and state legislators accountable to their respective platforms
    2. End support for legislators who vote contrary to the party platform
  5. Increase Transparency
    1. Stop laundering campaign money
    2. Make DNC and state delegates accessible by publishing contact information
